The beautiful Chalet Rongbuk is the perfect Alpine retreat for a group looking to explore the Vanoise National Park.
Just a short ride from the popular 3 Vallées domain, this peaceful home sits within the breathtaking Vanoise Massif, in the Tarentaise Valley. Pralognan is a popular resort in the summer, which has preserved its tranquil charm, appealing mainly to guests looking for unspoilt nature, fresh air and unforgettable hikes. Situated at an altitude of 1,400 meters, where the Glière and Chavière valleys meet, the centre of Pralongan is surrounded by hiking and biking trails that lead into the Vanoise National Park – the first national park created in France, established to protect the Alpine ibex.
In winter, Pralognan offers 26km of ski slopes across 24 runs, suitable for all levels, as well as many options for non-skiers.

About the property…
Chalet Rongbuk is a delightful 4 stars two-storey chalet that can accommodate up to eight guests (max six adults). With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an inviting outdoor sauna, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the unspoiled beauty of the Vanoise mountains.
The entrance hall leads to the chalet’s bedrooms – three double rooms and a children’s room with bunk beds. One of the double rooms has its own shower room with a toilet and washbasin, while the others share a shower room and separate toilet.
The ski room, equipped with a sink, heated boot dryers and both a washing machine and dryer, is a practical place to leave your outdoor gear after a day in the mountains.
The upper floor is dedicated to the open-plan living area. There’s a cosy lounge with a sofa and TV, a modern kitchen with a central island, and a welcoming dining area where you can all eat together. A wood-burning stove brings warmth to winter evenings, while large windows fill the space with natural light. This room opens onto a furnished balcony with a dining table and a relaxing seating area. This level also has a WC.

We’re a family of four who share a deep love for the mountains and nature. With our two daughters, we spend much of our time exploring the Alpine peaks and meadows.
We named Chalet Rongbuk after the famous Tibetan monastery on the route to Everest Base Camp – a nod to our fascination with high altitudes, tranquility and breathtaking mountain landscapes.
Set in Pralognan-la-Vanoise, in the heart of the French Alps, Chalet Rongbuk is a warm and traditional retreat, thoughtfully designed to reflect our passion for the mountains and to offer a peaceful haven for those seeking rest and renewal.
